My new classmates... and an RAK~

After stuggling with carrying my bottles of Prima's all over So cal, I have decided to adopt my good friend and fellow Primadonna Donna Salazar's buffet style flower assortment. I am not sure exactly how she does it, but through talking to her about how heavy my boxes of flowers were getting (I just added about 50 more containers!) she recommended I split them up. So now my little friends live in a cute bucket with similar colors. I think there are 15 or so buckets in total one for each color, plus grey black and white, collage flowers in bright and light, patterned flowers and leaves. I still have the rest of the flowers seprated by colors in gallon size zip lock bags to keeps these puppies filled! I am so excited, these buckets are sooooo much lighter than my box of bottles and paint tubes. I could seriously hold all of these with one hand if I needed too!
So get ready to play...this is going to be a fun holiday season full of gifts from the heart!!!
Also, I am going to film my tutorials this weekend. I intended to do them earlier in the month but due to health issues and the fires (we were not directly effected by the fires, but the smoke came at us from 3 different directions causing us all to get sick, again) I have to postpone them to this weekend.
Lastly, post to this thread for a seriously random RAK for a baggie full of flowers from my stash! You have till the end of the month, I will be posting the winners for the month on December 1st.
Thanks again!!!

A new kit in town...

From Any Occasion Paper Creations! This is my friend Latrice's company and she is launching her own kit creations. This kit is called "Twas the Night" it is a cute Christmas kit that is more than just Christmas. here is what I came up with:

"Hi" note card

"My Wish 4 you" layout

"{YOU}TH" layout

I made these all last night and had a blast, scrapping some photos me and James had just found in some boxes. The first layout, is of Sedona kissing a reindeer, It is from last christmas, and one of my favorite shots. The notecard is just a cute little card that opens bottom up, I thought it was a little different. And the last layout (name taken from the super cool prima line by Meredith Fenwick) is of Me and James on one of our first dates, the first week was some what of a blur for us, so I can't remember what date exactly it was, all I know is that we have never been apart since ( we have only been apart a few times, maybe two weeks tops in almost 8 years!).
So check it out, it is a fun kit to play with that is for sure. I still have plenty of product left to create more!!!
XOXO-

This weekend...

First off let me start by saying that I think blogger is out to get me. I have tried uploading these pics a particular order, and well it decided to stall (three times) and mix the pics up a bit. Oh well, it works.

So... This weekend was the Fiska-Frenzy Fiskateer event. It was AMAZING! I had so much fun reconnecting with old friends and making some new ones. Being that I was on a "girls" day, with no kids, I took total advantage. Here me and Steph were hanging out (I know seriously cheesy pun, but I had too!) I sat next to Donna and Steph and we had a little "flower fun" of our own. Here is our table as we did an amazing project designed my Candace Carpenter (a new friend!). Candace was seated next to me and even though she was up teaching and I had all of her space to plop my stuff down (she was seated to my right here) some how I guess... my supplies made their way over to Donna's space (she was sitting to my left). My dear friend Laurie was seated across from me, and was a total life saver! together my table rallied to help me finish my ATC's.

Ok, so here is where the post pics went south. This should have been the last pic, but oh well! This past friday, my oldest son lost his first tooth. He has waited for such a long time, and finally he has a gap to stick his tongue through! The tooth fairy had a tough time finding him, as he was spending the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He had forgotten his pillow, so when he came home and had his own pillow to sleep with, she found him and left some glitter from her wings on his bedding.

Here is the happy fellow showing us his new grill. Oh, and that is Sawyer in the background holding his brand new Pikachu up. Apparently Pikachu likes to pose for pics and must be in everyone.

lastly... Here are the Primadonna's posing with Captain Chad. I would love to introduce to you all the newest addition to the team Jennifer Priest (far right). She comes to the Primadonna Program from hemet Ca. and has an amazing talent and giving heart. The four of us took this opportunity to leave our mark (I brought along some flowers and foam mount squares) on Captain Chad. He was strutting his nice purple flower. Doesn't he look smashing in purple?

Well here it is, some of the pics from my weekend. Believe me there are so many more, I just haven't had a chance to look at them all yet.
Have a great week, and I am sure I will post more pics this week!

Hello 30~

Last week I celebrated my 30th birthday exactly the way I wanted to. I have debated on whether to talk about my dailies here in the blog, but I originally started this blog to catalog moments in my life so that I could look back and scrap as I go. So with this in mind, I share with you some of my day to day events this past month.

As most of you know, Sawyer our youngest son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS November 2006. He spent most of the second year of his life in intense ABA therapy which produced amazing results. He has sense adapted to a wonderful, beautiful little boy. This past few months we had noticed particular behaviors starting to creep up in him. We decided to have him evaluated again by our nuerologist and what she said devistated us. She left us with no hope, and basically told us that our little boy may never grow out of this and that he will ALWAYS have autistic tendencies. I was a shell of a mother as it was, being that I had no control over this thing that lingered in and out of our lives and to hear her tell me there was no hope, just shattered me. She did recommend intense ABA therapy to help with his behaviors but it is near impossible for our school district to cover this. We are currently in the process of having him re-evaluated for services and just hold true to the fact that God created Sawyer just as he is and has an amazing plan for his life. There is no doubt in our minds that Sawyer will move mountains, it is just the most scariest thing to go through as a parent knowing that your child is in there and you don't know how to get him out. We are fotunate enough that Sawyer is bright and responsive, tells us he loves us and talks to us. He is high functioning which is a blessing but keeps him at arms length for services he needs. So this month has been a trial for us emotionally besides the fact James' grandfather passed away as well.

Well with all of this going on, I just couldn't bring myself to have a huge party. I needed to do something simple that I could just enjoy. I had no more emotion left, and I really just needed a day to be me and appreciate the blessings in my life.

So my day consisted of dropping the kids off at school, attending IEP meetings for both Sawyer and Sedona (they both recieve speech services) and hustling over to Jackson's school for his parent teacher conference. All three meetings were great and Jackson recieved all outstandings, plus perfect attendance.

For dinner I ordered some pizza's and we had James' family over for dinner. James brought home some cupcakes from Sprinkles (my new guilty pleasure) and we laughed the night away.

This simple day of mommy duties is exactly what I wanted to do on this day at this time. I needed something simple I could relax with and I thank James for doing that for me. We will most likely do a party for the two of us during the summer, but for my day... my gift was simple. My day was simple, and it reminded me of just what my life is right now and just how blessed it is.

Still Room...

Just wanted to share with you all that there are still some spots left in my upcoming class at Scrapbooking Heaven. We will be rockin' the Glimmer mist, learning to mix colors, glittering with Sakura glue pens and doing some "leading" with Sakura black Glaze pens. This will truly look like a stained glass work of art! This is a little more of a technique based course, but as always I will have tons of Prima embellishments to play with! For more info call: 714-891-4664.
Hope to see you there!

Welcome to the Party...November RAK's

*Box designed by Sandee Allen of Tn.*

Well, there is so much to report, and I have had so much on my plate and with life's curve balls, I haven't been the best blogger. So I am starting fresh, today with some fun news, and of course this months RAK's yes I said it, RAK's plural.

So let's get started!!!
First off, did I mention that I am celebrating my birthday this month??? Yup, the #30 is right around the corner and rather than to run from it, I am embracing it and choosing to CELEBRATE! So of course all of my loyal buds will reap the benefits. So because I love November so much, I have decided to celebrate ALL MONTH LONG with various tips, techniques, challenges and of course, GIVEAWAYS! ( I feel like a scrap Oprah!)
RAK #1:
Support Your LSS!
Yup we are doing this again this month, because we really need to stick by the retailers and keep their stores hoppin'. Especially here in Southern California where the real estate is outrageous (even with the market drops, retailers are still hit hard with paying for their facility). So the terms are the same as last month.
  • Subscribe to my blog via feedblitz or blogger follower
  • Make a purchase at your LSS (this includes independent owned stores, non-chain)
  • email me the receipt dated any time in November 2008.
  • I will randomly choose a winner.

So let's do our part, even if it is just a tiny purchase, it still counts!

RAK #2

Refer a friend

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the fun friends I have made through my subscribers list. At first I was unsure about having one, being that I really didn't want to be intrusive on peoples visits to the blog, but as I have made friends and started to post RAK's and stuff, I couldn't imagine an easier way to tell all of my friends. So this RAK is simple, link back to my site from your site and I will track back and randomly pic a winner from all of those who I receive any traffic from. Also if you don't have a site, just tell your buds about what we are doing here this month and if they email me and let me know that you referred them I will add you to the drawing. There are no minimums with this drawing, so the more traffic you send here to the blog party, the more chances you have to win. I will randomly pic a winner on December 1st out of the list of people who participated.

RAK #3

Post-a-holic

This is open to EVERYONE, even non subscribers! With this RAK I really just wanted to have fun and keep the party going ALL MONTH LONG! This is simple.

Just Post.

That's it! I will randomly choose a winner from those who post. so the more you post the better your chances are to win!

On top of the RAK's I will be doing random RAK's through out the month, doing 3 new tutorial videos:

  • Aged Copper Chipboard
  • Basket Weaving Photo Tape
  • Prima Build a Book tips, (working with acrylic)
  • and anything else I have up my sleeve!

So keep up with the fun this month. Subscribe to get email alerts of when I post stuff. The prizes will be from my stash and can be just about ANYTHING!

We are going to PARTY this Month!

XOXO ~Liz

thank you to Sandee for sending me a pic of her gorgeous box!
